Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Scenic Carbon County, Pennsylvania is a great for a day trip OR an overnight camping trip spring, summer, fall and winter!  

And it is much more than a park.  The Carbon County Environmental Education Center is located on 60 acres of the Mauch Chunk Lake Park and has nature trails, bird feeding stations, butterfly gardens, a waterfowl observatory, and a boardwalk trail where visitors can view birds of prey that include Red-Tailed Hawks, Great-Horned Owls, the American Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle. The facilities are free and are open daily from dawn until dusk.Mauch Chunk Lake Park Beach Spring Summer Winter Fall Boating Fishing Kayaking Swimming Children's Programs at the Environmental Center

Kids Programs such as the Creepy Crawlers and Ranger Rick Club are offered each month. Public Programs can also be arranged for Organized Scouting Events during the camping season. To register for an event call  (570) 645-8597.

Want to Fish?  Want to take out the kayak or canoe?  Mauch Chuck Lake,  345 acres and has two boat launch areas that are open year round for fishing and recreational boating.

Want to stay overnight? You can camp there too!  Camping Season begins Mid-April and runs through November. You can CLICK HERE to reserve your camping site.

Summer means Fun at MCLP!  They have everything you need. . sandy beach, lifeguards monitoring a roped off area of the lake, concession stand, bathrooms covered picnic tables, grassy area, first aid station, walking trails, Volleyball nets and boating area.  The beach opens at 11 and closes at 7.  

Admission fee:

  • $3.00/adult, $2.00/child for Carbon County residents
  • $7.00/adult, $5.00/child for Non-County residents
  • Children 3 and under, those with disabilities, and individuals 65 and over are admitted FREE
  • **A child is considered 12 and under.
